Ingredients Note and Brand Suggestions
- gluten free all-purpose flour-- Bob's Red Mill Gluten Free 1 to 1 Baking Flour available to purchase here is our go-to. And it already contains the xanthan gum in the blend. I purchase this flour from Amazon in bulk and save so much money. We use the scoop and level method for measuring flour.
- xanthan gum-- omit if your GF flour blend contains this or guar gum
- baking powder-- always make sure yours is fresh, once opened this looses it's potency after 6 months
- kosher salt
- granulated sugar
- dairy free butter-- room temperature and we use Earth Balance Buttery Soy Free Sticks
- eggs-- room temperature
- dairy free milk-- our favorite is this refrigerated unsweetened almond milk
- brown sugar
- ground cinnamon
- kosher salt
- dairy free cream cheese-- our favorite is Kite Hill Plain Cream Cheese
- confectioners' sugar
- vanilla extract
- gluten free flour note-- gluten free flours contain varying ingredients. We enjoy using the recipe with the Bob's Red Mill GF 1 to 1 Baking Flour. And we've noticed over the years this flour tends to soak up the liquids in recipes. So we add in more dairy free milk to this recipe as needed for moist, playable dough. If you find your dough is dry or crumbly add in more dairy free milk 1 tablespoon at a time until you reach the desired consistency.
- bonus frosting option-- if you'd rather ice your Yeast Free Cinnamon Rolls with an easier 2 ingredient frosting use 1 cup confectioners' sugar and 1 tablespoon dairy free milk. In a small bowl combine these and mix until it becomes a thick paste. Add in additional dairy free milk as needed (¼ teaspoon at a time). Then drizzle across the cinnamon rolls and serve.
- this recipe serves 7 cinnamon rolls in an 8-inch pie plate
How to Make Yeast Free Gluten Free Cinnamon Rolls
Preheat your oven and spray an 8 inch pie plate with nonstick spray; set aside. In a large bowl mix flour, xanthan gum if needed, baking powder, salt, and sugar. Add in butter, eggs, and milk until dough is smooth.
Use a spoon initially and as the mixture begins to come together, finish kneading the dough with your hands in the bowl.
Then transfer the dough to a very lightly floured surface. Roll the dough into a 12 inch by 15 inch rectangle with a rolling pin, frequently sprinkling small amounts of flour underneath the dough and on top to keep from sticking.

Use a knife to trim edges for nice straight lines.
In a medium size bowl prepare the filling. Combine all filling ingredients and mix with a handheld mixer.
With your hand or an angled spatula, gently spread the filling over the cinnamon roll dough, leaving a ¼ inch clean space around the edges.

Roll the long side of dough away from yourself into a tight log roll.
Lastly, slice the roll into 7 equal slices with a sharp knife. Place each roll into the pie plate and transfer to the oven.
The finished rolls come out golden and puffed, with the cream cheese frosting melting right into the warm cinnamon swirl.
While the cinnamon rolls bake in the oven, prepare and refrigerate the cream cheese frosting. After removing the rolls from the oven, allow them to cool for 10-15 minutes before using an angled spatula to frost and serve.
Refrigerate any leftovers.
