If your littles are too young to dip the Oreos into the melted chocolate, then they can always sprinkle the cookies at the end.

Recipe Notes (brand suggestions)

  • dairy free chocolate morsels such as: Enjoy Life (semi-sweet, dark) or Simply Delicious (semi-sweet, dark chocolate, or white). Here's another delicious dairy free white chocolate chips brand to try.
  • coconut oil, omit if you need to be free from coconut oil
  • gluten and dairy free Oreo sandwich cookies like Glutino (super stuffed chocolate, vanilla creme) or KinniToos (chocolate, vanilla). Both brands produce a good quality cookie for these treats. KinniToos has a wonderful free-from page found here. Their products are manufactured in a facility free from gluten, dairy, peanuts, nuts, and soy. How to Make Gluten Free & Dairy Free Dipped Valentine's

  1. Place parchment paper on baking sheet and set aside.
  2. Melt the dairy free morsels and coconut oil in the microwave or over the stove top on low heat, stirring often.
  3. Once melted dip gluten and dairy free Oreo sandwich cookies in halfway. Transfer to parchment and place sprinkles on chocolate before it hardens.
  4. Store at room temperature in an airtight container up to a few days. These look festive in cellophane bags tied with ribbon too.

These cookies can be stored at room temperature in an airtight container for up to 4 days.

Tips

  • It ca be helpful to use a double boiler to melt the dairy free chocolate.
  • When melting the chocolate in the microwave, we recommend using a spoon or fork to stir it in between each burst of microwave time to help prevent it from seizing up.
  • You can do this with any cookie treats.
  • The coconut oil is optional as it helps make the chocolate a bit smoother and easier to work with.
